Fosto Oy has bought the Kera Interior lighting business
Orimattila-based Kera Group Oy and Tampere-based Fosto Oy signed an agreement on June 23, 2022, whereby the entire Kera Interior lighting business will be transferred to the ownership of Fosto Oy. The purpose of the business transaction is to increase the sales of designer lighting from the current level, and to bring new innovative and interesting lighting models to the market in the future. Kera Group will continue co-operation with Fosto as contract manufacturer and strategic partner.
- Kera Group has more than half a century of history as a manufacturer of Finnish design lighting. Nowadays however, the lighting business has been heavily embedded as just a part of the wider construction industry and traditional lighting business is not receiving the merit and attention it deserves. We believe that Kera Interior lamps will now reach new glory, as Fosto focuses on developing the lighting business in the future, says Seppo Nieminen, CEO of Kera Group.
- Since I was a little boy, I have been extremely interested in lamps and lighting. I got to know the Kera Group people about ten years ago when I was working in the field of software business. Now a great opportunity opened up to start a new career with design lighting. Coincidentally the lighting company Fosto Oy had been waiting in my desk drawer for years, only to be "switched on" some day. My company partners are reliable business professionals who I have known since my student days, so the prerequisites for success in that regard are in order, rejoices Fosto CEO Jarno Lahtinen.
The new brand and bright future will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at the launch event in Helsinki's Glass Palace where, in addition to the old classics, shining future classics will be showcased. Our lighting designers will also have a say, and Fosto's future plans will also be heard.
Kera Interior has been known for decades for classic lamps that are designed by Orno and manufactured with original machines and drawings, precisely with the same old-school methods that the original designers masterminded decades ago. Fosto uncompromisingly continues the tradition as a manufacturer of high-quality, durable and attractive design lighting and as a creator of new light displays as well.
We hope The Bright Scandinavian Design will keep illuminating the world far into the days to come.
